The Boys:

Voice, trumpet: Eldon Daetweiler - Licensed to thrill.
Drums: Jeff Daetweiler - Krupa's back! Hide your daughter and hold your hat.
Guitar: "Junkyard" Todd Thurman - Daddy's on fire. Big fat guitar and gasoline on the rocks.
Keys: Kenji Saito - The secret weapon. cool, baby....cool.
Bass: Jeffrey Alan - When this cat walks, everybody swings....hard....as in barnstorm.

The Scoop:

Who's your daddy?!! Shake up a martini, grab your best baby, and watch the sky, 'cause when these cats land, the joint's never gonna be the same!

Following a slew of standing room only headline performances along with some major support slots (including sold out shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco with the Brian Setzer Orchestra, ALIEN FASHION SHOW caught the ear of Setzer manager and Surfdog Records owner, Dave Kaplan. In a flash the band landed in the studio with producer Jim Wirt (Fiona Apple, No Doubt, Sprung Monkey, Shadowbox, Incubus, etc.) at the helm.

The Tunes:

Detroit Swing City - A KISS classic with wingtips. "We wanted to have some fun with a song that we loved while growing up. A few cocktails later, Detroit got a new dance step".

Rocket #95 - A sultry intergalactic little love ditty. "She's the only girl for me, in this big bad galaxy...."

Slim and Sally - "Swingers" meets "Sid and Nancy" and all hell breaks loose!

The Reviews

"Take a groovy name, a dab of The Jetsons, a pinch of sizzle and you've got one happenin' new swing band who.... might not be from around here. Alien Fashion show is a spankin' new band brought to you by Surfdog/Hollywood Records, whom we'd give 10 thumbs up if we could find so many. They're doing the un-done, the never-seen, the incredible!" - Dimension Music, 7/98

"Balmy, decadent lounge tales of extraterrestrial espionage and fast women seeking dapper, Dick Tracy-types abound." - Karl Louis, Virtually Alternative, 3/98

"AFS lives in a world where Raymond Chandler meets Twin Peaks." "Their music is atmospheric, romantic, and everything is cast in shades of blue." - Amy DeZellar, Music Connection, 3/97

The Skinny:

The boys landed in late 1996, and have since shaken the rafters from The House of Blues and Tipitinas in New Orleans to San Francisco's Warfield Theatre to Los Angeles' Greek Theatre. (OK there's really no rafters at the Greek) In April 1998 they recorded their debut on Surfdog Records, produced by Jim Wirt who's producing and engineering credits include Sprung Monkey, Fiona Apple, and guitar slinger Brian Setzer. In August they'll hit the road opening 15+ shows for Setzer and his 17 piece rockin' big band.
